The 2026 edition of Jakarta International Photo Festival (JIPFest) will take place in Central Jakarta, from 11-20 September. We invite photographers, artists, visual storytellers and lens-based practitioners from around the world to submit photographs, photo-based works (including video), multimedia installations as well as projects based on archival research that show diverse perspectives. The submissions should reflect the festival theme, RESILIENCE. Resilience offers the chance to consider our collective histories and celebrate solidarities, bringing together stories of endurance and survival, and gestures of restoration and regeneration. JIPFest announces its curatorial team ahead of the sixth edition. Chelsea Chua and Yoppy Pieter return as curators following the festival’s 2025 edition. They will host an open call and curatorial research to explore and shape the narrative on the festival theme, RESILIENCE, into exhibitions. Yoppy has worked in Indonesia’s photography creation and education for over a decade, while Chelsea brings multidisciplinary experience in producing programmes and exhibitions, and leading developmental initiatives across the region.
