This session brings together Juliana Tan and Rebecca Kailola-Simons to explore the spaces between remembering, forgetting, and retelling. Through A Kind of Magic, Juliana reflects on childhood landscapes transformed by displacement and time, while Rebecca’s Batu Bicara draws from Dutch-Moluccan family histories, oral traditions, and myth to uncover narratives beyond official records.

Together, they explore photography as a space for revisiting, questioning, and passing on memories and histories in new forms.
