Rosa traces her ancestral roots across Lake Toba, Samosir Island, and the Karo Highlands,  meeting inang-inang, Batak mothers who have carried generations of culinary knowledge in their hands.

What she finds is that food was never just food. It carries prayer, tradition, and family — and as the land and livelihoods around these communities shift, so does the way this knowledge gets passed on.
