This year has started out tough for Indonesia and the world. As part of Jakarta, we are keeping a close contact with the local government and in consideration of public safety, we are moving the festival date from 26 June – 12 July to 19 August – 6 September 2020.
This decision is made after discussions with many parties, including sponsors, partners, venue management and a few speakers. We are grateful for their continuous support amid this period of uncertainties, and we do hope that the festival will provide a platform of inspiration and motivation – things we universally need to keep our careers, businesses and lives going.
The opening of the festival, 19 August, coincides with World Photography Day. As we commemorate this special occasion for the global photography community, we invite everyone to take part in enjoying the programs, discussing current social issues, networking and most cultivating optimism during this globally distressing time.
While the festival will take up new dates, the location at Kota Tua and the theme of SPACE remain. This multi-faceted word has become a symbol of survival in the current physical distancing reality across the world. During the festival, we will practice SPACE in its literal sense – this includes limiting the number of visitors and providing a safe distance for audience at all programs, while also providing digital platforms to experience the events from anywhere at anytime, even in isolation.
See you in Kota Tua, Jakarta!
