
Catherina Annabella Lie
Architect, Interdisciplinary Artist
Catherine Anabella Lie is an Indonesian interdisciplinary artist, architect, researcher, educator, and baker based in Mexico City. Her practice explores the relationship between the built environment and ecology through the notion of commoning, indigenous knowledge, and various forms of transmedia storytelling. She works with scores, videos, texts, and everyday materials to explore interdependence, intergenerational care, ecology, and cyclical time. Catherine holds a Master of Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where her thesis, sourdough architecture, received the Fialkow Fellowship in 2020. Her work has been presented at various international art and architecture spaces, including Museum MACAN and the Venice Architecture Biennale.
