Facilitators

Adrian Mulya (b. 1974) is a Jakarta-based independent, self-taught photographer exploring social and human issues. His works include Winners of Life (2016), documenting female former political prisoners of 1965; So Far, So Close, exploring personal and national history; and Serabutan (2021), examining working conditions in the gig economy. His projects have been exhibited in Indonesia and internationally, and he currently works as a photo editor at Project Multatuli.

Dimas Sugih is an analog photographer exploring identity, community, and everyday life through intimate visual storytelling. His work has been featured in exhibitions and cultural programs in Indonesia and internationally, including Amplifier Art London, Panna Future Talents, Indonesia Photo Fair at JIPFest, and Jakarta Biennale 2024. He is also Creative Director of JIPFest, founder of Bersoreria, and a guest mentor at Kelas Pagi Indonesia.

Meet EcoNusa, a nonprofit organization working to strengthen and amplify local initiatives from Papua and the Maluku Islands, bringing their voices and perspectives to national and international platforms.

At the heart of its work is a commitment to fair, inclusive, and sustainable natural resource management, connecting environmental protection with the knowledge, livelihoods, and aspirations of local and Indigenous communities across Eastern Indonesia.

Through collaboration and community-driven initiatives, EcoNusa helps ensure that the people closest to the land and sea remain part of the conversations shaping their future.

Gang-gangan was born in late 2021 in Jogja out of a shared, playful initiative to document the unique and amusing things encountered while walking through the city’s alleys.

Walking activations with Gang-gangan not only spark new friendships among citizens, but also serve as a direct meeting point to discuss and envision a more ideal urban space. It advocates for a city that is friendly, accessible, and intimately connected to its alleys, embracing all its human dimensions and nuances.

Irene Insan is a photographer and creative director working across portraiture and commercial photography, with a strong focus on people and storytelling. Beyond her practice, she co-initiated Timeless Conference and community project Oleh-oleh Memori, while actively sharing her experience through talks and workshops. Her work received Honorable Mentions at the 2025 and 2026 MonoVisions Awards in the Portrait and Conceptual categories.

Dr Jacob Canet-Gibson is a practice-led, post-documentary artist-researcher based in Australia. His work which spans photography, videography, soundscapes and installations focuses on deconstruction and the brute forcing of technology to produce novel results. His research explores intersections between studies into the preconscious, theory-fiction and optical lens technologies.

He was a finalist of the STILL: National Still Life Awards, winner of IRIS Portrait Prize and has been exhibited at the Pingyao International Photography Festival 2025. In 2020 he was awarded Emerging Australasian Documentary Photographer of the Year. He is currently a resident of .ABECEDA Institute’s FACT FICTION Advanced Research Group.

Januar Rianto is a designer, editor, and publisher working across design, education, and popular culture. He is Creative Director of Each Other Company, Publisher at Further Reading, and former Co-founder and Programme Director of Jakarta Art Book Fair (2019–23), as well as a jury panel member for Printed Matter’s LA Art Book Fair 2025. His practice explores design as both a way of seeing and a framework, which he shares through lectures and discussions at art, design, and educational institutions worldwide.

Meet Kelana Urban, an urban exploration initiative that turns walking into a way of seeing, observing, and experiencing the city from new perspectives.

Through shared walking experiences, Kelana Urban invites participants to slow down, notice the overlooked, and discover the stories hidden within everyday streets.

Kolektif Merawat Ingatan is a collective of archivists, designers, researchers, and facilitators who use creative and artistic approaches to transform collective memory into hope and action for today’s movements.

Through archives, research, and art, they revisit and retell stories of individuals, communities, movements, and events marginalized or erased by unjust systems. Their work focuses on activism, social movements, and reclaiming overlooked histories.

Kukuh Rizal Arfianto is the CEO of Sun Eater Group, a Jakarta-based music and entertainment company that has become a major force in Indonesia’s independent music scene, representing artists such as Hindia, .Feast, Lomba Sihir, and Reality Club. With a background in retail, advertising, and film, he has expanded Sun Eater Group beyond recorded music into merchandising collaborations and Jakarta Music Con, a platform fostering industry insights and community dialogue.

Lucas Leo Catalano, MA MPhil is a photographer of mixed heritage based between Indonesia, Italy, and Australia. Catalano’s practice explores documentary projects that remain open to interpretation, while still making clear reference to current affairs, revering photography’s unique relationship to reality.

Shortlisted at the Australian Photocollective Documentary Awards, Australasian Photobook Dummy Awards, and Contemporary Landscapes in Photography Prize. Nominated for the Sovereign Asian Arts Fund and Harry Gruyaert’s Trieste Photofestival grant.

Marrysa Tunjung Sari, a certified professional photographer, editor, and photography educator with extensive experience across editorial, commercial, and creative photography. From 2014 to 2020, she served as Editor-in-Chief of Linkers Citilink Inflight Magazine, overseeing its photography and visual direction, while also contributing to independent photography magazines. She actively facilitates workshops across various genres, including abstract, travel, photo storytelling, street food, and photographic techniques.

Muhammad Fadli is a Sumatran-born photographer based in Jakarta, whose personal work moves through colonization, subculture, environment, and the quieter corners of social life.

SISI is a journaling collective created as a space for honest expression, beyond the pressure of “good writing” or performance. A place to slow down, process what we experience, and look at life from another side, a warmer, more grounded perspective where we can simply be ourselves.

Born from a shared love of reading and the belief that stories can be experienced in many ways, LiteraTOUR and Awaywithbooks bring Stories on Foot to life.

Blending books with journeys on foot and by public transport, Stories on Foot invites us to step beyond the page, moving through the city, following its stories, and discovering how a narrative can come alive when we travel through it together.
