Ahmad Arif has worked as a journalist and columnist at Kompas since 2003. He studied Food Processing at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Universitas Gadjah Mada, before earning his bachelor’s degree in Architecture from UGM and later pursuing a master’s degree in Sociology at Universitas Indonesia.

As a journalist, Arif focuses on science and environmental issues. Over the past decade, he has extensively researched and written about food, including through the Pangan Nusantara book series.

Anggun Pradesha is a Jambi-born transgender artist and activist based in Jakarta whose creative practice spans acting, poetry, short stories, and documentary filmmaking.

Through her work, she amplifies transgender voices and broader humanitarian issues, using art as a space for self-expression, visibility, and social dialogue.

Caron Toshiko is a photography researcher currently pursuing her doctoral studies in Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her research focuses on the relationship between photography and psychoanalysis.

In 2014, Caron co-founded Gueari Galeri, an independent photo book gallery and publisher based in Jakarta. Through Gueari Galeri, she helps facilitate workshops on storytelling using personal photo books, creating a space to explore experiences and build personal narratives.

Damayanti Buchori is an entomologist and land-use ecologist whose work explores the intricate connections between insects, biodiversity, agriculture, and the landscapes. Her research focuses on understanding how ecological systems can support more sustainable and resilient approaches to agriculture.

She holds a PhD in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior from Indiana University Bloomington and is currently a professor at the Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, IPB University, where she continues to bridge scientific research with pressing questions around biodiversity and sustainability.

Born and raised in Neniari, Maluku, Elvira Lumapuy is a forestry professional dedicated to natural resource management and Indigenous communities. As a Program Associate at EcoNusa, she supports conservation and participatory mapping initiatives across Maluku, promoting an approach that connects forest protection, community knowledge, and sustainable livelihoods.

Febrianti, Padang-based freelance journalist focusing on Indigenous communities in the Mentawai Islands. His work has been published by Project Multatuli, Tempo, BBC Indonesia, and Ekuatorial, and he is a member of the Society of Indonesian Environmental Journalists (SIEJ) and a recipient of the Rainforest Journalism Fund Southeast Asia grant.

Hibatul Hakim, Bali-based photographer and filmmaker who has been documenting Indonesia’s music scene since 2017 through platforms including Laut Loud, Konser Bali, and irockumentary.club.

His work has been featured internationally, and since 2022, he has been part of Arka Kinari while also contributing to the Artivist Network and Radish Radio.

Iqbal Lubis, Makassar-based freelance photographer working across documentary, editorial, and portrait photography.

His work has been published by TEMPO, VICE, Mongabay, Tirto.id, DestinAsian Indonesia, Xinhua, and EPA, and he is a recipient of a Pulitzer Center grant.

Born and raised in Timika, Papua, Jamina Rumbewas is passionate about environmental conservation and community empowerment. As a Program Associate at EcoNusa, she supports Indigenous communities in developing local commodities and sustainable livelihoods, demonstrating how conservation and economic well-being can grow together.

Jordan Marzuki is an Indonesian editorial designer and the founder and publisher of Jordan, jordan Édition, an independent publishing house dedicated to Indonesian artists. His practice centers around researchers to produce publications that engage with social, political, and cultural histories.

Alongside his publishing work, he designs books for artists and cultural institutions and lecture at LaSalle College Jakarta. His work has been recognised by the Aperture Photobook Awards, Tokyo TDC, and D&AD. He has recently collaborated with the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) and the Asia Culture Center (ACC), South Korea.

Kennya Rinonce is a storyteller, performer, and independent producer who moves fluently between theatre, dance, and live events.

A graduate of FSRD ITB and UCL, her work bridges creative practice with cultural research, including her role on the Jakarta Arts Council’s Dance Committee since 2023.

Through ongoing projects like “Offstage.Offscript.” she explores the unseen voices behind productions, driven by a deeper inquiry into intellectual property and the economic sustainability of creative work.

Raka Ibrahim, a writer, interventionist, and cultural activist traveling across the Indonesian archipelago, he explores music, underground culture, and everyday politics through journalism. 

He joined Arka Kinari in 2021, evolving from crew member to program curator, and now works with Yayasan Lintas Batas and the Coastal Community Conference to connect cultural initiatives across coastal communities.

Ramlah, an Indigenous Kajang woman who actively advocates for the rights of Indigenous Kajang women and supports women weavers of the traditional Tope Le’leng Kajang sarong.

Rebecca Kailola-Simons is a photographic artist, educator and editor based in the Netherlands. Her artistic practice explores the relationship between memory, history, and constructed narratives through photography, video, and installation.

Her ongoing artistic research project, Batu Bicara, revisits Moluccan-Dutch colonial history through documentary storytelling, family history, archival research, and myth.  The project explores the tension between official histories and more relational ways of carrying memory through family that extends beyond bloodlines, while also questioning the Western impulse to document, classify and archive.

Rizky Rahad, film programmer, researcher, and practitioner exploring queer aesthetics as “rebellious worldmaking.” A producer of Sound Guardians and co-organizer of Bali-based film collective QAMERAD, Rizky has received the Bertha Artivism Awards 2026, Flaherty Film Fellowship 2025, and British Council Connection Through Culture Grant 2024.

Zeta Kinanti, audiovisual storyteller whose practice incorporates social anthropology, exploring visibility and new perspectives on femininity, particularly by recontextualizing it through local lived experiences. She is currently a student at the Department of Anthropology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Indonesia.
