JIPFest presents Adapting to Online Publishing Workshop with Espen Rasmussen on 12 September 2022 in Blok M, Jakarta.
Espen is a member of the photo agency VII, and a photo editor and online producer at VG daily newspaper. He has won numerous awards for his work, including three prizes from the World Press Photo.
In this workshop dedicated to photographers and visual storytellers, Espen will be discussing the shift towards digital platform in the media industry and how photographers must adapt their work accordingly. He will guide participants through the process of planning and designing online projects, and how to combine photo with video and sound.
The workshop will focus on how to continue working with your own style and language, while adapting to the demands of digital platforms. Using his own projects as examples, Espen will bring his wealth of experience as picture editor to explain what he looks for in works submitted for publication.

PARTICIPANTS & FEE
- The festival welcomes applicants of any nationality, who will be selected by the workshop organizer.
- Transport and accommodation costs are borne by participants. JIPFest team could provide recommendations upon request.
- Applicants have received a minimum of 3 doses of Covid vaccine.
- The workshop will be conducted in English.
- Number of participants: 13 people.
- Workshop fee: IDR 500,000 (Indonesian) or USD 40 (foreigner), including lunch and coffee break. Bank transfer charge (if any) should be borne by the participants.
HOW TO APPLY
- Complete the application form in English by latest 10 September 2022.
- In the application form, please insert the link to download your project. Each image must be in a low-res JPG/JPEG file, 72 dpi, with 1,200 pixels in the longer side, max 500KB in size.
SELECTION & PAYMENT
- After the application deadline, we will review the applications and select the participants.
- First notification of the selected participants will be sent via email by 11 September 2022.
- Within five days after receiving the notification, the selected participant must remit the workshop fee.

JIPFest is scheduled for 9-25 September 2022 in Blok M, Jakarta. The festival is supported by the Indonesian Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry and Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Department. All guest stars, crews, participants and visitors are required to have received a minimum of 3 doses of Covid vaccine.
