Jakarta, 10 September 2025 — The Jakarta International Photo Festival (JIPFest) returns to its “first home” at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Cikini, Central Jakarta, for its fifth edition from 12-21 September 2025. With the theme COEXISTENCE, JIPFest 2025 will be a venue to explore how technology and photography influence each other and shape new realities in the digital age. This theme responds to the rapid development of technology, where photography is not just a tool for recording, but also a medium for interacting with these changes.

This year, JIPFest was again selected as one of the 110 leading events in the Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) 2025 program, an initiative by the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia. The festival will showcase more than 300 works from 21 selected photographers, curated by Chelsea Chua and Yoppy Pieter. These works reflect how humans, nature, and technology can coexist.

In addition to the main exhibition, JIPFest will also feature 61 guest stars, including Ángela Rincón (Colombia), Mai Nguyên Anh (Vietnam), Joanne Pang (Singapore), Woong Soak Teng (Singapore), Daisy Yang (Taiwan/Canada), Kenji Chiga (Japan), Yoese Mariam (Indonesia), Dicky Irman Nassa (Indonesia), Keyza Widiatmika (Indonesia), and Meidiana Tahir (Indonesia). The guests will share their knowledge, stories, and experiences in various programs such as Artist Talk, Discussion, and Public Lecture.

The inaugural program, Indonesia Photo Fair (IPF), will be held concurrently with JIPFest at Galeri S. Sudjojono. IPF focuses on the marketing of photographic works in the form of prints and books, aiming to grow and strengthen the culture of collecting photography in Indonesia, as well as to create a bridge between photographers and enthusiasts or collectors.

This year, an interactive experience based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be presented. Through the AI Activation Booth within the exhibition, visitors can interact directly with the technology. In collaboration with Playlist X Interactive, this experience will demonstrate how technology interprets the human side through a portrait.

Anyone can be a part of JIPFest 2025—from seasoned photographers to casual photography enthusiasts. The festival is committed to providing an inclusive space for art, photography, and technology. With daily tickets at Rp45,000 or a 10-day pass for Rp175,000, visitors can enjoy all festival programs. Tickets can be purchased online at goers.co/jipfest2025 or directly at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM).

About JIPFest

The Jakarta International Photo Festival (JIPFest) is a platform for photographers and the public to meet, dialogue, and exchange stories; and an arena for photography projects to reach a wider audience. As an international photo festival, JIPFest also aims to cultivate and elevate national photographers onto the world stage. The festival is attended by participants from both within and outside the country, including photographers, photo editors, academics, gallery owners, curators, photo critics, and representatives from photography communities.

JIPFest 2025 carries the theme COEXISTENCE, where dozens of photographers will exhibit their work and engage in discussions as a reflection of technology’s impact on humanity. For its fifth edition, the festival will feature more than 61 guest stars and hold 12 programs over 10 days (September 12-21, 2025) at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Cikini, Jakarta.
