Resilience offers the chance to consider our collective histories and celebrate solidarities, bringing together stories of endurance and survival, and gestures of restoration and regeneration. From environmental disasters to political revolution, from triumphs of the past to the challenges of the future, Resilience speaks to the tenacity of the human spirit and its ability to overcome adversity. It also embraces myths, values and visions that resonate across generations and continue to shape our identities and ways of being. In resilience, we find the means to adapt and the capacity to flourish; the will to resist oppression and the desire to dream.

We invite photographers, artists and visual storytellers worldwide to submit photographic and lens-based visual works that demonstrate a diverse visual approach. Between April and June 2026, the festival’s curatorial team will conduct curatorial research and host an open call to discover compelling works that reflect the festival theme. Selected works will be publicly showcased during the festival, alongside a series of public programs featuring the festival’s guest speakers and participants.

This year, JIPFest will take place in Cikini, Central Jakarta, from 11-20 September 2026. Through curated works and public programs, JIPFest hopes to spark conversations around crucial issues that shape our resilience, contribute to movements that encourage positive changes within the society, and collectively celebrate life.
