Jakarta International Photo Festival (JIPFest) 2019 is delighted to announce selected photography works, following open call for submissions which ran from 10 January-10 March 2019.
The selection is made by JIPFest 2019 Curatorial Team, based on the main criteria that the body of works should be aligned with the festival’s theme of IDENTITY. We hope that the selected photography and multimedia works can represent our unique and diverse ways on seeing identity in social and personal contexts, including different visual narrative approaches through documentary photography, photojournalism and art projects.
“The open call precedent sets a defining character to JIPFest 2019. With different understanding of ‘identity,’ comes a wide range of unexpected proposals and body of works, both from Indonesia and beyond,” states Firman Ichsan, Head Curator.
