JIPFest has invited communities to create their own events as part of the festival. We’re happy to see the various communities who answered to the open call. Below, the list of selected communities who will organize events and photo exhibitions between 13-28 November 2021.
All events are free and open to public, with limited slots available. All visitors are required to pre-book their slots via ticket.jipfest.com and to have received a minimum of one dose of Covid vaccine.
1. Portfolio Review with BicaraFoto
BicaraFoto shares an opportunity for photographers to get artwork review, as a way to expand networks, get objective feedback, as well as exploring collaboration potentials with members of the community. BicaraFoto will select interested participants.

4. Discussion: Are There Female Photographers in Indonesia? Yes! (with Women Photograph Indonesia)
Join the first public session of Women Photograph Indonesia (affiliated to womenphotograph.com), a platform and non-profit organization with a mission to give a voice to female and non-binary photographers and visual artists. Panelists will discuss the visibility of Indonesian female photographers, and present a selection of works for the first edition of Print Sale WPI on a screen projection.

6. Seminar: Producing Photo Prints that Last A Lifetime with EKTA Imaging
EKTA Imaging will share knowledge on printing and material selection to produce archival prints. The method allows for production of museum-quality prints and is designed to be long-lasting. In this session, audience is invited to recognize print production workflow, the making of Gicleè prints, and current technology used in archival printing.

7. Exhibition: Love Buzz by KBR
This exhibition features 10 photo stories on queer and gender/sexual minority communities in Indonesia, inviting audience to explore their realities in the spirit of inclusivity. These photo series are the results of the workshop #RawatHakDasarKita, a workshop for members of the queer and gender/sexual minority communities. The workshop is a collaboration between KBR and PannaFoto Institute.

9. Exhibition: Silent Stories by Photo-Demos
The exhibition features works selected in Photo-Demos Challenge: Albertus Vembrianto, Malahayati, dan Arif Hidayah. They tell stories of communities in the midst of their struggles to fight for basic rights, either collectively or individually. The exhibition also presents multimedia works from photographers who document mass movements, enriching the discussion on daily realities related to basic rights of citizens. The program is part of Photo-Demos activation, initiated by PannaFoto Institute with Kurawal Foundation, supported by Open Society Foundations.
