Announcing Selected Entries for 2022 Photo Exhibition

JIPFest 2022 curatorial team, Asep Topan, Ayos Purwoaji, and Ng Swan Ti, have selected 21 photography and multimedia works from 17 countries to be exhibited in the festival between 9-25 September 2022. All works are selected from Open Call, which ran from 29 June-31 July 2022, in which we received 190 works from 40 countries.  These works are selected as they showcase strong perspectives on revival – which is selected as the festival theme, and reflected on the photo exhibition open call. Exhibition & City Tour Around Blok M

The third edition of JIPFest takes place in Blok M, one of the liveliest neighborhoods in the south of Jakarta. The festival occupies various venues, from public park to gallery and theater. In between these venues, you will easily find restaurants, cafes, boutiques, as well as historical sites. To help visitors enjoy the festival and explore the area, we are hosting six slots of Festival Tour. Guided by JIPFest team and curators, participants will visit all festival venues and exhibitions on a walking tour. LANGSAT PARK Jl. Barito, Kramat Pela, South Jakarta, Google Map It’s commonly known as Barito Park, due to its location along Barito Street. The leafy 3.6-hectare Langsat Park features several lotus ponds, a kids’ playground, a badminton court, and a 750-meter jogging track. Workshop: Storytelling Strategies with Anaïs López

JIPFest and Erasmus Huis present the Storytelling Strategies Workshop with Anaïs López on 13-14 September 2022 at Erasmus Huis, Jakarta.  Anaïs López, an Amsterdam-based visual artist and storyteller, won the Director Guild award for best digital storytelling for her latest project, The Migrant. She was also awarded the title of Master Storyteller by the Narrative Journalism Foundation. This workshop covers knowledge and skills in formulating the strategy for a visual project, from planning to execution. Workshop: Photo Book with Yumi Goto

In partnership with Japan Foundation, JIPFest presents Photo Book Workshop with Yumi Goto on 15-22 September 2022 in Blok M, Jakarta. Yumi is a Tokyo-based independent photography curator, editor, researcher and publisher. During the workshop, she will be assisted by Kenji Chiga, who received The Best Emerging Photographer Award at the 2019 Dali Photography Festival.  This workshop will explore the process of creating a photographic series in printed form, including editing process, conceptualizing ideas and presentation, and the physical process of creating a photo book. Workshop: Adapting to Online Publishing with Espen Rasmussen

JIPFest presents Adapting to Online Publishing Workshop with Espen Rasmussen on 12 September 2022 in Blok M, Jakarta. Espen is a member of the photo agency VII, and a photo editor and online producer at VG daily newspaper. He has won numerous awards for his work, including three prizes from the World Press Photo. Wanted: Volunteers for JIPFest 2022

JIPFest is recruiting volunteers to help us run the festival between 9-25 September 2022 in Blok M, Jakarta. Volunteers will participate in a range of programs, and will work alongside JIPFest team members. By joining JIPFest, volunteers will get the opportunity to expand their network, as well as to gain experience and develop expertise in managing an international festival.  This registration is open to anyone, including people with disabilities, aged 18 and above and have received a minimum of three doses of Covid vaccine. Host Your Own Event at JIPFest 2022

At JIPFest, you can be more than visitors – you have the opportunity to create your own event within the festival! If you have ideas for photography-related events, bring them to life by submitting your proposal to our Fringe program. Fringe is open to both individuals and organizations. In our two previous editions, Fringe participants held various events, including discussions, exhibitions, portfolio reviews, workshops, and photo book launches.
